Little known fact: when I was at Disney and working on some cute French-to-English translation games for kids in preparation for Ratatouille, the brand manager told me they had almost released a co-branded wine at the launch… the idea made its way pretty far along in the process until someone in Legal stomped on the whole idea. I guess having a family movie endorsing a healthy glass of wine with dinner was just too much for the brand. Shame.
Anyway, sorta love this colab with BR and Clos du Bois.
Banana Republic partners with California winery, Clos du Bois to launch a limited-edition holiday label of wine. This brand collaboration not only includes limited-edition wines, but it’s also part of a larger branding/lifestyle experience. The wine bottles come with a holiday party soundtrack, style tips from Banana’s Creative Director, Simon Kneen, and food/wine tips from Clos du Bois. The bottles are targeted to the 72% of American women who said they consider drinking wine to be a lifestyle choice.
