Bookmarking Brands: Gilt’s Killer Feature Goes Live
I’ve been longing for this feature and now it’s live: Gilt members can now star (or favorite) brands to be alerted to when those sales go live.
As a long-time and somewhat dangerously addicted user of the site, I’ve seen my favorite designers’ sales cycle every few months. And Gilt has introduced me to a few labels I’d never heard of before but am now deeply loyal to. So this personalization tool is another way for me to stay connected to Gilt, as it continues to innovate faster that some of the other daily deals and flash sales fashion sites.
I love this so hard. In fact, I’d love to be able to star or favorite particular items; even if they’ve sold out or I don’t intend to wait list for them — or even buy them — I’d love to have a Pinterest-like look book, if you will. (Are you in my head on this one, Gilt?)
Other flash sales outside of fashion should take note of this feature. Yes, it requires more complex databases, slicing and dicing of that data, but I think shoppers will come to expect these sorts of bookmarking and ‘desire-graphs.’
