Techies Break a Fashion Taboo

Loving shoes, looking good, AND running a company?! How can this be? 

It’s ridiculous that we have to give permission to powerful and intellectual women to enjoy the sartorial arts. The amount of chatter outside of the fashion press around Marissa Mayer’s de la Renta affection is absurd. 

Having worked in all sorts of office environments from big corporations to scrappy start-ups and creative agencies, I have gotten to a point in my life where what I’ve achieved in business (and what I can accomplish during the day) is totally separate from what I wear. This is my opinion and of course there are times when I consider my audience (clients, pitches, site visits etc). 

If you’ve never heard what Cindy Gallop has to say about personal style as an extension of your brand and finding self-expression and confidence through what you wear, go have a look/listen.
